Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar Cobalt Wreath Decoration, Stamped "F. STETZENMEYER & / G. GOETZMAN / ROCHESTER N.Y.," circa 1853-1860, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flared collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a wreath surrounding a script "2." Cobalt accents to maker's mark. Fry to cobalt. Minor wear to interior of rim. Small chips and wear to inner rim for lid. A V-shaped hairline to side of jar, although no pieces appear to be reglued. Some in-the-firing crazing to reverse, not visible on interior. H 11".
