Rare and Fine Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Elaborate Stump and Flying Bird Decoration, Stamped "WEST TROY / N.Y. / POTTERY," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with an elaborate slip-trailed design of a large tree stump in front of a split-rail fence with flying birds in the distance. Rare design with excellent coverage across the crock's front. Excellent condition with two small rim chips on reverse. H 10 3/8".
