Four-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, attributed to George Donkel, Buncombe County, NC, early 20th century, ovoid jar with rounded rim and arched tab handles, the surface covered in a tannish alkaline glaze. Shoulder impressed with Donkel's distinctive skeleton key stamp and the number "4." A 3 5/8" section to rim that was broken into pieces and reglued. A small rim chip. Thin cracks on underside, extending onto base area in a few places, including a Y-shaped line measuring 3 1/2" at base. H 13 1/2".
