Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Clarkson Crolius, Sr., Manhattan, NY, early 19th century, a half-gallon jug with cobalt brushwork surrounding the maker's mark, "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER. / NEW YORK," including a rare impressed star-like floral motif above; paired with a small ovoid jar with brushed spotted drape motif, unsigned. Jug with exfoliation throughout and a glazed-over flake to edge of handle. Jar with rim and base chips and a 2" surface line at midsection, emanating from a tiny chip or ping. H (of jug) 9 1/2".
