One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Quebec Advertising, Canadian, third quarter 19th century, cylindrical form with tooled spout and brushed floral motif, impressed with the cobalt-highlighted advertising, "O FORTIN / MARCHAND / D EPICERIES VINS ET LIQUEURS / 105 RUE ST PAUL / QUEBEC." A shallow 3/4" flake to top of spout and two small spout chips. Some in-the-firing spalling to cobalt. In-the-firing blistered spots to surface. In-the-firing discoloration to left side of jug. H 11 3/8".
