Two Redware Jars with Manganese Floral Decoration, Stamped "JOHN W. BELL / Waynesboro, Pa.," circa 1880, both of ovoid form with tooled shoulder, flared rims, and applied lug handles, each decorated on the front and reverse with lead-and-manganese spotted tulip motifs. Glazed highlights to handle terminals. Each impressed at the shoulder with John W. Bell maker's marks. Shorter jar with large rim chip on reverse, other small rim chips, a tight 4" spider line to one side, and water glass staining to interior and exterior. Other jar with significant exfoliation to exterior and interior, as well as rim chips. H (of taller jar) 14".
