Two One-Gallon Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Floral Decoration, D.P. Shenfelder, Reading, PA, circa 1870, both of ovoid form, one with brushed tulip motif, stamped "D.P. SHENFELDER / READING, PA," the other with flowering vine motif, unmarked. Marked jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition with a few in-the-firing contact marks to surface. Other jar with small Y-shaped surface line at base, connecting to a large C-shaped surface line on underside, neither of which are visible on interior, as well as some water glass staining.
