One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "EVAN. R JONES / PITTSTON, PA," circa 1875, cylindrical jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of a flowering plant bearing three fan-shaped blossoms. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Provenance: Michael Wissler Collection. A thin crack to handle. A short in-the-firing crack to base of handle. A short in-the-firing line to underside, extending a short distance onto base on front. Some fry to cobalt. H 11 1/2".
