Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Bowl with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "D.P. Hobart, Agent / Williamsport, Pa.," circa 1880, with rounded sides, tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed tulip across the front. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Short-lived mark and unusual form for this region. Rim chips. A long hairline across underside, forming a Y at base. A large, faint spider line on reverse. A few small in-the-firing pings. Some fry to cobalt. H 6 1/4" ; Diam. (across top) 12 1/4".
