Scarce Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Maine Spring Water Advertising, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1880, semi-ovoid jug, impressed with the cobalt-highlighted advertising, "AMERICAN / CHALYBEATE / SPRING. / W. M CLARK & CO. / DANVILLE JC., MAINE." Includes wooden stopper. Horizontal hairline to handle. Two in-the-making, glazed-over scratches to surface. H 14 1/2".
