Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N.A. WHITE. & CO. BINGHAMTON," NY State origin, circa 1870, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with an elaborate slip-trailed design of a flowering plant with abstract, spotted-decorated blossom. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Chips to interior of spout. A small surface flake and tiny ping to shoulder. Two unglazed contact marks to shoulder. Two short in-the-firing lines to base area. A short in-the-firing fissure to underside. H 14 3/8".
