Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "W. ROBERTS. BINGHAMTON. NY," circa 1870, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a crested bird with long tail, perched on a vine. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. In-the-firing flaws: chipping to base, burns including some discolored contact marks, and some fry to cobalt. A tiny spout chip. H 14".
