Very Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Flask, Stamped "C. CROLIUS, / MANUFACTURER, / NEW-YORK," Manhattan, NY origin, early 19th century, wheel-thrown flask with flattened sides and tooled spout highlighted in cobalt. Base impressed with Clarkson Crolius, Sr. maker's mark. Exceptional form. The only stamped Crolius stoneware flask we have seen. Crack in underside, continuing 4 1/2" up front of flask. Small base nick. H 7".
