Stoneware Flask, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / NEW-YORK.," Clarkson Crolius, Sr., Manhattan, NY origin, early 19th century, wheel-thrown flask with flattened sides and semi-rounded spout, the base stamped with a Clarkson Crolius, Sr. oval maker's mark. Only the second signed Crolius flask that we have ever offered. The other example is listed as lot 82 in this auction. At the time of the catalog's printing, that lot was the only example that we have offered. Provenance: A recently-surfaced example. Very nice condition with a 3/8" in-the-firing spout chip and an in-the-firing iron ping at base. H 7".
