Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "C.W. BRAUN / BUFFALO. N.Y.," circa 1870, ovoid jug with tapered spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a flower blossom with striped, crosshatched, and hollow petals modeled after Burger motifs from Rochester, NY. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A glazed-over ping to spout. A minor glazed-over ping to side of jug. A minor base chip. A faint 5 1/2" diagonal line at base on reverse.
