Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jars, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1875, both of tapered form with inner "wax sealer" rims, the larger decorated with freehand stripes and stenciled with the advertising, "GRAHAM & STONE. / GEN'. MERCHANDISE. / JACKSON C.H. / W. VA.," the smaller decorated with a group of graduated swags between freehand stripes. WV canning jar with mottling, staining, and some wear to surface, as well as chipping to interior of rim and inner wax sealer rim. Other jar with chips to inner wax sealer rim and a small chip to interior of rim. H (of WV jar) 10 1/2".
