Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Pittsburgh, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "Wm. HASLAGE / & CO. / GROCERS AND / TEA DEALERS. / No. 18 Diamond, / PITTS." Freehand stripes and vining to shoulder. Base with cobalt-script "2" flanked by dashes, above a freehand stripe. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with an in-the-firing contact mark to shoulder of jar.
