Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug with Rock Teeth, Signed "Lanier Meaders," Cleveland, GA, circa 1970, highly-ovoid jug with well-sculpted face including kaolin eyes with black pupils, long nose with carved nostrils, and smiling mouth with small rock and quartz teeth. Surface covered in a mottled alkaline glaze ranging from glossy olive to a matte "frogskin" style. Underside incised with Lanier Meaders signature. Excellent condition with possible chipping to two teeth. H 9 1/2".
