One-Gallon Lidded Stoneware Jar with Iron-Oxide Decoration, Stamped "BOSTON.," Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, early 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and heavily-incised banding to rim and base, the top dipped in iron-oxide slip. Includes salt-glazed stoneware, probably original to the jar. Excellent condition with two minor rim chips and two small, in-the-firing iron pings to surface. Lid with chips to knob and a few in-the-firing contact marks.
