One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1840, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and arching tab handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed design of flowering vine bearing fan-shaped flowers and open-petaled blossoms. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A hairline to underside forming a small Y at base. Three rim chips, the largest measuring 1 3/4".
