One-Gallon Stoneware Batter Pail with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Nathan Clark, Jr., Athens, NY, mid 19th century, ovoid form with tall collar, tubular pouring spout, and handle at base on reverse, the front decorated with a flowering plant with long, curving stem. Front of spout decorated with a brushed foliate motif. Missing wood-and-wire bail handle. Otherwise excellent, essentially as-made condition with a 1 3/4" surface crack on underside, not visible on interior. H 8 1/2".
