Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Tulip Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX. / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, ovoid jug with tapered spout, decorated with a brushed design of two spitting tulips emanating from a central stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. Excellent condition with a shallow 3/4" base chip, some light staining, and minor, old paint spatter.
