Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "HARRISBURG .PA," William Moyer or John Young, Harrisburg, PA, circa 1856-1861, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, decorated with an unusual, brushed triple-tulip motif. Brushed cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Desirable size, decoration, and early-period maker's mark. The stamp, "HARRISBURG .PA," was used by both John Young and William Moyer prior to the establishment of the long-standing Cowden operation. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
