Two-Gallon Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "CHARLESTOWN," Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, early 19th century, ovoid jar with flared collar, open loop handles, and heavily-tooled shoulder and base, the shoulder impressed with two hearts below a Charlestown maker's mark. Iron-oxide-dipped decoration to top and base of jar. Rim chips. Otherwise excellent condition.
