Unusual Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Ochre Decoration, Incised "B & R," Stamped "WM. E. WARNER / MANUFACTORY," West Troy, NY, circa 1850, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated in reddish-brown ochre slip with floral motifs. Brushed "2" to shoulder beside a stylized flourish. Incised with the inverted initials, "B & R," on front. Light ochre highlight to lower handle terminal. Very nice condition with two minor chips to underside at edge, a base chip on front, and a minor in-the-firing stone ping to front. Faintness to decoration.
