Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "JAS. HAMILTON & CO. / GREENSBORO. / PA.," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, featuring James Hamilton & Co. maker's stenciling surrounding a stenciled rose. Additional stenciled floral motifs above and below. Shoulder with stenciled "3" flanked by stenciled tulips. Freehand stripe to shoulder and base. Cobalt highlights to handle terminal. Chips to handles. Some fry to cobalt at base.
