Extremely Rare Miniature Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Gemel, Stamped Twice "NEW-HAVEN," Absalom Stedman or Stedman & Seymour, New Haven, CT, circa 1825, pair of conjoined ovoid jugs with flared spouts and ribbed strap handle at the center. Each half impressed "NEW-HAVEN." Cobalt highlights to the maker's marks, surrounding the bases of the spouts, and highlighting the area between the jugs. An extremely rare, outstanding form potted in an exceptional size, surviving in exceptional condition. Provenance: Skinner, Inc., Personal Collection of Lewis Scranton, May 21, 2016, Lot 94. Excellent condition with a small, shallow flake to underside. H 3 1/8".
