Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Centennial Jar, Dated "1876," Beaver, PA origin, 1876, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, thick lug handles, and semi-squared rim, decorated with the brushed date, "1876," below bands of foliate designs and spots, all applied over a slip-coated surface. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Some fry to cobalt. A shallow 5/8" chip to interior of rim. A 3" crack on underside, continuing 4" up base of jar. A few tiny nicks to inner rim for lid.
