Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Pruntytown, WV origin, circa 1875, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, decorated with a brushed flowering vine bearing four distinctive blossoms. Cobalt wavy stripe decoration below rim. Base with freehand "2" flanked by dashes. Rim chips, the largest measuring 1 3/8". Wear to interior of rim. A 5" crack from rim on right side of jar. Some mottling to surface.
