Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Incised Foliate Decoration, Manhattan, NY origin, early 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, heavily-tooled shoulder, and open loop handles, decorated on the front and reverse with an incised and cobalt-highlighted stem bearing leaves. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Significant network of cracks to base/side of jar. Rim and base chips.
