Very Rare Creamware Snuff Jar with Baltimore, MD Advertising, signed "CLEWS'S MANUFACTURER'S," Cobridge, England origin, circa 1812, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and narrow opening, featuring a blue Federal eagle motif and transfer advertising "MACAUBAU, / SCOTCH & RAPPEE / SNUFF. / TOBACCO & CIGARS, / MADE & SOLD / BY / HEZEKIAH STARR, / No 27, / CALVERT STREET, / BALTIMORE." One of a few examples of its kind known. Excellent condition with some staining and a small Y-shaped line on underside, not visible on interior. H 6 1/4".
