Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "NEW YORK / STONEWARE CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a long-tailed bird perched on a stylized branch. Light cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Some shallow chipping to rim. A 3 1/2" hairline from rim on reverse. Chipping to one handle. Wear to edge of opposite handle.
