Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "SATTERLEE & MORY / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1865, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a long-tailed bird perched on a leaf. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Areas of fry to cobalt. A glazed-over iron ping to reverse. An in-the-firing chip and flake to underside. A small rim chip on reverse.
