One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON, / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1855, cylindrical jug with squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed crested bird, perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some saltiness to cobalt.
