Very Rare Large-Sized Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Cobalt Star Decoration, Stenciled "NESTORVILLE, W.VA. / POTTERY," circa 1880, semi-ovoid canning jar of unusual form with tooled shoulder and narrow opening with "wax sealer" interior, stenciled on the front with the maker's mark, "NESTORVILLE, W.VA. / POTTERY," flanked by stars. Very nice condition with rim chips. A large, recent felt-tip-pen notation on underside. H 10 7/8".
