Rare and Fine Stoneware Canning Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Decoration, Stenciled "BOYERS & HARDEN / PALATINE / W.VA," circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, heavily-decorated with freehand dashes above Boyers & Harden maker's stenciling, surrounded by stenciled leaves. Among the finest Palatine canning jars that we have ever offered. Large in-the-firing chips to underside at edge. Small chips to interior of rim. A 3/4" chip to inner wax sealer rim. H 10".
