Rare Slip-Decorated Redware Jar, attributed to Nathaniel Rochester, West Bloomfield, NY, circa 1818-1832, ovoid jar with slightly-flared rim and applied lug handles, the lead-glazed surface profusely-decorated with marbled splashes of manganese and copper slip over a bright orange ground. Exfoliation to surface, primarily to bottom half of jar. Shallow chipping to rim. Two shallow chips to one handle. Wear to edge of opposite handle. H 9 1/2".
