Fine Glazed Redware Jar, Bristol County, MA origin, late 18th or early 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base and flared rim, the lead-glazed surface decorated with streaks of manganese over a mottled orange ground. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a recently-surfaced Northeastern U.S. collection assembled decades ago. Some scattered flakes to base and midsection. Light surface wear around midsection. A 1 1/8" rim chip. Some minor wear to interior of rim. H 9 5/8".
