One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA", circa 1865, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, decorated with a brushed floral motif featuring a graduated blossom. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A few small rim chips. A 4 3/4" horizontal Y-shaped surface line to reverse, not visible on interior.
