Five Glazed Redware Articles, American, 19th century, a manganese-decorated redware pitcher, Norwalk, CT origin; a manganese-decorated jar with handles, Norwalk, CT or possibly Huntington, Long Island, NY origin; a blackish manganese-glazed jar; a manganese-decorated lid, probably PA origin; and a light-glazed lid, New York State or New England origin. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market group, from a recently-surfaced Northeastern U.S. collection assembled decades ago. Pitcher with rim and base chips as well as a crack across underside, extending several inches up front. Ovoid jar with cracks, rim and base chips, and surface wear. Blackish-glazed jar with surface wear, rim wear, and base chips. Manganese-decorated lid with an edge chip and minor edge nick. Other lid with edge chips and a shallow chip to knob. H (of pitcher) 8 1/4"; Diameter (of light-glazed lid) 4".
