Very Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "WILLSON'S & YOUNG. / HARRISBURG PA", circa 1855, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a split-stemmed tulip plant with spotted leaves. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. A small glazed-over chip to left handle. A 7/8" in-the-firing-chip to reverse side of right handle. A minor in-the-firing surface chip to reverse. Front with two small surface flakes and a tiny in-the-firing ping.
