Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "NEW GENEVA POTTERY", New Geneva, PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with tooling to midsection and shoulder and semi-rounded wax sealer rim, the front decorated with freehand straight and wavy stripes along with the stenciled signature, "NEW GENEVA POTTERY". Provenance: From an over forty-year private collection. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some in-the-firing discoloration to reverse and a glazed-over stone ping to right side of jar. H 9 1/2".
