Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Stenciled Horse Decoration, Stenciled "PALATINE POTTERY CO. / PALATINE / W. VA," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled words, "PALATINE POTTERY CO. / PALATINE / W. VA," surrounding a design of a rearing horse. Exceptional color. A dry salt drip to front, covering the letter, "P," in "PALATINE." A 1" in-the-firing base chip on side of jar.
