Rare Half-Gallon Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Stamped "J.P. PARKER. / Manufacturer of / STONEWARE. / JANE LEW, W. Va.," circa 1865, cylindrical jar with heavily-tooled shoulder, and semi-squared rim, featuring a delicate, J.P. Parker maker's mark within a rectangular at the shoulder. Interior is light, purplish-gray in color, indicating the use of an unusual slip lining. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 7 3/4".
