Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to David Greenland Thompson, Morgantown, WV, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with incised banding, tapered rim, and extruded lug handles, decorated with freehand vining bearing stylized flowerheads. Freehand stripes to shoulder. Freehand "4" to base. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Losses to left handle. A 1 3/8" chip to back of right handle. A 2" rim chip on reverse.
