Fine Small-Sized Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Cobalt Cherries Decoration, Stenciled "GREENSBORO", Hamilton & Jones, Greensboro, PA, circa 1870, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, decorated with a stenciled design of three cherries hanging from a stem with saw-toothed leaves. Stenciled "GREENSBORO" above in bold-faced capital letters. Exceptional size with crisp stenciling and desirable subject matter. Wear to interior of rim. Two minor chips to inner wax sealer rim. H 6 5/8".
