Redware Spittoon, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, cylindrical form with pronounced foot, recessed top, and carved oval opening at shoulder, the surface decorated with sponged manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Underside impressed with John Bell maker's mark. A small chip to oval opening at shoulder. Three short hairlines to opening on top. Two small chips to underside at edge. Some light wear to surface. H 4 3/8" ; Diameter 7".
