Rare Glazed Redware Sugar Bowl, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, squat-shaped, ovoid form with semi-rounded rim, the lead-glazed surface decorated with reddish-brown streaks of manganese over a yellow ground. Impressed with John Bell maker's mark on underside. Exceptional form. Three short lines from rim. A small rim chip. H 3 1/2" ; Diam. (at rim) 4".
