Rare Redware Basket with Multi-Colored Glaze, attributed to George Wagner, Carbon County, PA, circa 1890, wheel-thrown form fashioned into an oval with applied handle and wavy band of applied clay around shoulder, the lead-glazed surface dipped in a yellowish slip and decorated with streaks of copper and manganese. Appealing form with striking color. Wear to applied clay at shoulder. Otherwise excellent condition. H 6" ; L 8 3/4".
