Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Profile Decoration, OH origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with thick, semi-rounded rim, decorated with a brushed design depicting the bust of a man wearing a hat. Desirable subject matter. Very nice condition with a thin, 2 1/2" crack from rim on reverse and some in-the-firing flaws to surface.
